Design Philosophy
My aim with this fragrance was to create a modern ode to violet.
Violets are truly beautiful flowers with a gorgeous scent. The phrase 'shrinking violet' refers to the tendency for the smell of violets to 'dance' with your olfactory receptors: they flood them, then recede, then you smell them again. The scent of violet is not weak, but it is delicate and easily trampled. Creating a violet-centric perfume that was not fleeting, not weak and not 'vintage' – not your grandmother's violet perfume – was very challenging.
